Kasim Alfalahi
Kasim Alfalahi is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Avanci, where he leads the company’s mission to simplify patent licensing and create solutions that make technology more widely available. A pioneer in developing market-based approaches to intellectual property, he has dedicated his career to building trust and finding common ground among companies with diverse interests.
As Ericsson’s Chief Intellectual Property Officer, Mr. Alfalahi led the company’s global licensing and patent strategy, transforming it from a net payer to a net receiver of royalty income and helping generate $1.7 billion in revenue in 2015. His leadership helped establish the concept of patents as strategic business assets within the telecommunications industry.
A global citizen fluent in four languages, Mr. Alfalahi has lived in six countries. He holds a Master of Science in Engineering and Management from Linköping Institute of Technology in Sweden.
