Meet Akiko Nishitani! She is a Licensing Director in our Japan Market Unit, working with a range of stakeholders to support Avanci’s vision of transforming how patent licensing is done.
As she recently told IAM [https://bit.ly/4mgPDG3], in her work in Japan she has noted an increase in opportunities for new programs in a range of IoT verticals where larger numbers of manufacturers will require even more efficiencies of scale and a more efficient option for licensing standard essential patents (SEPs).
While some markets require more education and endurance, there are common challenges related to IP licensing. Carefully listening to and hearing the needs of all sides of the table is essential in every licensing negotiation.
