Senior Manager, Royalty Allocation
Dermot Roche is part of our Royalty Allocation operations team focusing on patent essentiality evaluations with respect to technology standards, and royalty allocation calculations based on patent evaluations and other licensing metrics. He works to support all of the Avanci Cellular platforms, the Avanci Video platform, and the Avanci Broadcast platform. In his role Dermot regularly interacts with licensors to explain the royalty allocation rules and guide licensors through the process.
Dermot joined Avanci in 2024 having previously worked as a patent attorney for over 25 years in both in-house IP departments of technology companies, and in private practice. He has extensive experience in video codecs and computer implemented inventions. Dermot has worked in UK and Netherlands and is currently based in our Dublin office.
Dermot is qualified as a European Patent Attorney, a UPC Representative, a European Trademark Attorney, an Irish Patent Agent, and an Irish Trademark Agent. His original degree is a Bachelor in Engineering degree from Trinity College Dublin.
