Porsche AG and Audi AG Become Licensees of the Avanci Marketplace, Obtaining a License to Essential Patented Technology for Present and Future Connected Cars.
Today, Avanci announced it has signed patent license agreements with Audi and Porsche. Both companies will use Avanci’s open marketplace to obtain licenses to the patented wireless technology of many different patent owners. The licenses granted by Avanci include all 2G, 3G, and 4G essential patents owned by twenty-four different patent owners. In addition, the licenses will include all essential patents owned by other companies that join Avanci in the future.
“Our agreements with Audi and Porsche demonstrate our focus on streamlining patent licensing through the Avanci marketplace,” said Kasim Alfalahi, founder and chief executive officer of Avanci. “Ultimately, we’re focused on a better way forward, helping ensure continued investments in the Internet of Things, and providing an efficient licensing process while reducing risks and transactional costs for all involved. We are very pleased to have two market leaders such as Audi and Porsche receive the benefits that the Avanci marketplace provides and look forward to adding more patent owners and licensees to the marketplace in the future.”
