Volvo Group signs 5G Vehicle license with Avanci

Next generation connected trucks, buses and other vehicles covered by a single agreement

Avanci, a global leader in joint licensing solutions, today announced a new 5G Vehicle license agreement covering the Volvo Group. This new agreement extends the existing relationship between Avanci and Volvo Group to the next generation of connected vehicles.

Volvo Group is committed to shaping the future landscape of sustainable transport and infrastructure solutions, offering a range of products including trucks, buses and construction equipment. Under this agreement, 5G connected trucks, buses, and other vehicles from Volvo Group are licensed to the 5G, 4G, 3G and 2G standard essential patents of the more than 70 patent holders that participate in Avanci 5G Vehicle as licensors, as well as patent holders that join as licensors in the future.

Avanci 5G Vehicle builds on the success of Avanci 4G Vehicle. More than 200 million connected vehicles on the world’s roads from over 110 automotive brands are now covered by an Avanci Vehicle license.
