Deping Liu

Vice President, Platform Technology

As VP of Platform Technology, Deping supports Avanci Vehicle and is involved in the development of new programs including for Internet of Things products.

Beginning her career as a researcher at Huawei in China, Deping focused on 3GPP standardization and outreach to industry and government, including four years at the Huawei office in Chicago, US. Deping is a named inventor on more than 100 patent families for 4G and 5G, was a co-rapporteur on 3GPP LTE-V2X standardization and has published papers for the IEEE and ITS World Congress. She later moved within Huawei to be an in-house counsel focusing on SEP licensing, working on several major deals.

In 2021, Deping joined Avanci’s affiliate Marconi in Beijing, involved in technical licensing negotiations and supporting Avanci licensors in China. In 2022 she transferred to Avanci.

Deping has a masters’ degree in Wireless Telecommunications from the Beijing University of Post and Telecommunications (BUPT), is qualified as a Chinese Patent Attorney and has passed the Chinese bar examination. Bilingual in Mandarin and English, she is based in Dublin, Ireland.
