Christopher DeVries is Vice President of Platform Development at Avanci, where he supports the development and growth of the company’s licensing platforms. He brings deep expertise in intellectual property law, technology licensing, and commercial transactions.
Prior to joining Avanci, Christopher spent more than 26 years with General Motors as a Senior Intellectual Property Attorney, leading patent prosecution, technology licensing transactions, and legal support for software and electrical technologies. Earlier in his career, he practiced patent law with the law firm Harness, Dickey & Pierce and worked as a Controls Engineer for 3M, developing manufacturing control systems and software solutions.
Christopher holds a Juris Doctor, cum laude, with a focus on Intellectual Property and Patent Law from William Mitchell College of Law and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Michigan State University. His combined legal and engineering background enables him to navigate complex intellectual property and technology matters. He is based in Dallas, Texas.
