Yuichi Mizutome serves as a Consultant to Avanci’s Japan Market Unit, bringing more than 30 years of global experience in patent licensing, standard setting, and patent pool operations. He advises on strategic licensing matters and supports engagement across Japan’s technology ecosystem.

Yuichi spent most of his career at Panasonic Corporation, where he played a central role in the development and operation of major technology licensing programs. His work included leadership involvement with prominent patent pools such as One-Blue (Blu-ray), SD-3C (SD Memory Card), and DVD6C, where he helped establish business and legal frameworks designed to generate revenue while protecting the interests of both licensors and licensees.

He brings deep expertise in licensing negotiations, program design, antitrust considerations, and cross-border IP matters. Yuichi also has significant litigation experience, including successfully managing a high-profile U.S. antitrust case. Earlier in his career, he held international marketing roles in Europe, providing him with a strong commercial foundation that complements his IP and licensing background.

Yuichi holds a Bachelor of Science in Electronics and Information Technology from Yokohama National University and is fluent in Japanese and English.
