Ken Kanazu
Director, Global Compliance
Ken Kanazu leads Global Compliance at Avanci, where he oversees internal compliance (including SOC), inbound licensor audits, and outbound royalty inspection programs across the company’s major automotive and IoT licensing platforms. He specializes in building scalable, globally integrated compliance frameworks that support efficient, transparent licensing operations.
Ken brings extensive experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder environments involving licensors, OEMs, auditors, and legal teams across the United States, Europe, and Asia. Known for his relationship-focused approach, he builds trust while navigating high-stakes commercial and compliance matters and translating contractual obligations into practical, operational execution.
His background spans IP licensing, royalty assurance, and international business, with a strong focus on aligning commercial insight with rigorous compliance standards. Ken is passionate about advancing modern compliance functions that are strategic, execution-driven, and designed to scale with global licensing programs.
Prior to joining Avanci, Ken spent 18 years at MPEG LA, where he held multiple roles across licensing operations, compliance, and royalty assurance, working closely with global licensors and licensees in large-scale patent pool programs. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Colorado Boulder.
