Laurie Fitzgerald is President of the Avanci Vehicle business at Avanci, a leading, independent global provider of patent licensing platforms. She is responsible for all aspects of the Avanci Vehicle platform and is passionate about finding licensing solutions that can be widely accepted across industries.
At Avanci Vehicle, Laurie has driven the expansion of the 4G Vehicle platform to include almost 100 automotive brands, and more than 55 licensors, collectively responsible for the vast majority of 3G & 4G standard essential patents. In 2023 she led the launch of the company’s program for 5G connected vehicles, which has since grown to span more than 30 automotive brands under license and more than 65 licensors who together own the vast majority of 4G & 5G standard essential patents.
A patent licensing professional and IP attorney, Laurie has almost two decades of experience working with patent holders and product developers, spanning licensing transactions, patent acquisitions and divestitures, portfolio strategy and valuation, and patent litigation. A regular conference speaker, Laurie features amongst Managing IP’s Most Influential People in IP for 2023, in the IAM Strategy 300 list of leading IP professionals, and World IP Review’s Most Influential Women in IP.
